What to check when buying a used GE LOGIQ P9 XDclear

  1. Reject a deformed, discolored or overheating battery

An internal transportation-mode battery on a LOGIQ P9 R3 leaked powdered electrolyte onto the power supply board, causing arcing, smoke and burn marks.

How: Check the battery for odor, heat, deformation or discoloration, and have any abnormal battery serviced before the system is used.

  2. Inspect the power cord and inlet retainer

A cord with cuts, tire marks or exposed insulation, or an inlet that will not retain its plug, is an electrical fault to settle before purchase.

How: Look along the whole cord for cuts, loose hardware, tire marks and exposed insulation, check the power connectors for damage, and confirm the inlet connector retainer works.

  3. Confirm the UGAP correction on R4.5.7 software

On LOGIQ P9 R4.5 units with system software R4.5.7, recall Z-0157-2026 found UGAP may display inaccurate liver steatosis values, and users were told to stop using UGAP until the correction is implemented.

How: Under Utility > About, affected software reads Software Version R4 with Software Revision 5.7, so read both and confirm GE HealthCare's correction has been applied.

  4. Check the covers, shielding and air filters

Missing covers and hardware can cause interference while scanning, and a clogged filter can make the system overheat.

How: Confirm every EMI shield, internal cover, air-flow panel and screw is in place, and that the front and bottom air filters are fitted and clear.

Common questions about the GE LOGIQ P9 XDclear

Is the GE LOGIQ P9 XDclear FDA-cleared?

Yes. The LOGIQ P9 is FDA-cleared through 510(k) as a class II device, product code IYN. Its most recent clearance, K214039 for software version R4.5, was decided on March 22, 2022, and K203114 for software version R4 on January 8, 2021; both cover the LOGIQ P10, LOGIQ P9 and LOGIQ P8.

Earlier clearances for the LOGIQ P9, each shared with the LOGIQ P7, are K181783 (September 20, 2018), K163596 (February 10, 2017), K161047 (May 5, 2016) and K143452 (January 29, 2015).

What is the GE LOGIQ P9 XDclear used for?

It is a general imaging system, built for exams from triage to comprehensive studies. Its R4 clearance, K203114, indicates it for fetal and obstetric, abdominal, pediatric, small organ (breast, testes and thyroid), neonatal and adult cephalic, adult and pediatric cardiac, peripheral vascular, conventional and superficial musculoskeletal, urology including prostate, transrectal, transvaginal, transesophageal and intraoperative abdominal and vascular imaging, for use in a hospital or medical clinic.

How does the LOGIQ P9 XDclear compare with the LOGIQ P10 and LOGIQ P7?

The LOGIQ P10 is the highest configuration in the P Series, with every feature and probe the series offers; the LOGIQ P9 and LOGIQ P8 each offer a subset. On R4.5, the HDU monitor configuration is for the LOGIQ P10 only.

Against the LOGIQ P7, Coded Contrast Imaging was a LOGIQ P9-only option on the R1, R2 and R2.5 releases, and the HRes Contrast Upgrade was LOGIQ P9-only on R2 and R2.5.
